Piazza San Marco
The crowds, the pigeons, the bells (I was there at noon) and the Basilica San Marco are a must see for any tourist coming to Venice. It was a Sunday and I was able to sit in for part of a morning Catholic Eucharist. The choral music resonating in the magnificent interior was fantastic. You cannot take pictures inside the Basilica. It was enjoyable to have a light lunch in one of the old tea houses that dates back to the times of the Austria Hungarian empire (the Hapsburgs) before Napoleon temporarily ruled and influenced Italy.
