Tosca

When traveling at an IT I do like to take in a bit of music if it is available. I was able to get a ticket for Tosca at Teatro dell'opera di Roma. Tosca was composed by Giacomo Puccini, in Chiatri (located on a small hill between Luca and Viareggio) between June 1989 and September 1899. Tosca premiered on 14 January 1900 at the Teatro Constanzi, the same theatre where I watched and headed the performance on Wednesday evening.  It was performed in Buenos Aires in June and London in July 1900.
What was fantastic about Wednesday's performance was that the staging and costumes were as much as possible exact replicas of the 1900 settings.
Of course one is not able to take photos during the performance but part of the enjoyment is going to a wonderful opera house.
